TIDES Supervision Model

Our Mission

As a supervision model, TIDES complements agencies' current evidence based interventions by providing both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the areas of Neuroscience Awareness, Trauma Informed Care, and Desistance resulting in meaningful, trauma informed interactions that support sustainable, long-term change.

Understand the Pathways In...

We encourage professionals to take into consideration the past context and current impacts of trauma and adversity when identifying and addressing dynamic risk factors.

How do we do it?

TIDES focuses on the facilitation of four, research-informed components designed to foster individual growth and sustainable change: Self-Regulation, Identity, Resilience and Social Support.  A 3 day workshop provides TIDES training participants with the theoretical knowledge about each component and the practical skills to apply their knowledge in meaningful, trauma responsive interactions with clients using the TIDES Compass: Regulate and Relate, Reason, Intervene, and Empower. Ongoing engagement is provided by the TIDES authors during sustainability sessions to further support the implementation of the TIDES model.
